IHSI to Participate at Indiana State Fair, Italian Exhibit, Ciao Italia

The Indiana State Fair will be held from August 3 to the 19 and will feature an Italian Exhibit which will provide lots of information on Italy and Italian Americans in Indiana .  The IHSI  will have a table to provide information about our activities as well as an indoor bocce court where the bocce commissioner, Joe Giacoletti, and his club members will hold demonstrations. 

 

Volunteers are needed to man the information table in four hours shifts during each day of the fair. This will consist of just talking a little to people about Italy , Italian Americans, and our society.  Information leaflets will be provided for the volunteers and the public.  Most importantly, the idea is to present a friendly smile to all who will come to the table and enter the exhibit.

The shifts are: 9:00 am to 1:00pm , 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm , and 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm , during the run of the fair, Aug 3 to the 19.  You and the other volunteers will be with entry and parking passes the day you volunteer.

So ask a friend or two or three, or more and choose a date and sign up for a shift, several shifts, a full day or more and attend the State Fair and do some volunteering for the Italian Heritage society of Indiana !
